STOP 5 | Canary Islands: Exploring Fuerteventura in a Post-Diet environment

Dedicated to my "bro" Ricky, who just got an amazing new job that made me proud, who was always there and I disappointed him, and who - I hope - may come back one day.

Post-Diet wonders while exploring

Shamanic Post-Diet is really tough, I am literally counting the days till the wedding of my friend, August 28th, when I can re-start a normal eating and social life.

Till a couple of days, I had a lot of emotional rushes. Lately seems to be better, but I am impatient to solve a couple of things following my retreat realizations. For now, I need to "observe", as Geraldine said and not to do anything.

Another positive note is that I haven't eaten my nails for 10+ days now, and I cannot even believe it: I have never cut them with nail scissors or clipper, it's going to be so weird, basically I have been anxious since I can remember, probably.

Probably going to Fuerteventura was not the best decision for the Post-Diet, but I am trying my best to abide by the rules.

Over the past couple of days I had the chance to explore the south part of the island. I visited the Mirador de la Pared, I explored Costa Calma beach, where I listened to Eros Ramazzotti's Spanish version songs. No sun full exposure though, everything under he 9 € umbrella I rented. I went out one evening as well, to just enjoy some water, since they didn't have almond milk, which is the only pleasure I can award myself with. And finally, I bought a new bathing suit, that I really like.

Evening out

On Friday I went to the Oasi Park in Fuerteventura and I started the day with a camel ride. There was a camel behind me, that didn't bite, but was breathing on my neck for the entire 20 mins of the trip. I decided to name him/her "Guilt".

I saw there lots of animal and exhibitions, including turtles peeing and shitting on the seats as they were probably scared of the audience. I spent that night planning the September part of the trip.

On Saturday, I made my way up to Corralejo, stopping at El Cotillo beach in the morning: it was the first day I could enjoy some sun, as per Post-Diet instructions sent to me by Geraldine and...it was cloudy, the full morning. And the water was also freezing, so I basically enjoyed the company of my Kindle.

Once arrived in Corralejo, I got the chance to  enjoy the beach as well, seeing a lot of beautiful girls I couldn't approach - due to the Post-Diet - and seeing weird beach cleaners.

I walked through the city center to ship my last postcards and saw an amazing sand sculture, worth it a picture, before briefly enjoying the sunset at the port.
