Interregnum STOPS 5 and 6 | Probably I didn’t lose anything this time!

Dedicated to Paolo, who is still a friend (probably), even when we don’t see eye to eye (especially on Covid-19, or on Conservatives/Liberals). Probably friends are those we respect no matter what. And I thought about you lately. Thank You, Paolo!

I don’t want to brag about it, but probably I haven’t lost anything in Fuerteventura, or I haven't noticed it yet. After leaving the bike tour, I got into the car, wounded, and I drove towards the airport. My concern was not the fuel per se, but the car rental logistics: last time in Cancun, the directions were wrong and it took me about 1h to return the car, including finding the car rental following wrong directions and got the car checked by the lady. Anyhow, I tried to speed up - to make sure to have plenty of time.

The gas station was literally 1 min far from the car rental return and everything went pretty smooth, including me trying to clean the car from the dust as much as possible. I was supposed not to do any off-roads, but to look at the stars, we kinda went off-roads for a couple of mins and car got really dusty.

My wound was there, burning a bit, but that's it. I was only concerned for the dust and the sweat: I tried to clean it up as much as possible, but I didn't have proper time to take a full shower: first time ever in my life I take a flight in such conditions.

I did my usual stop at the lounge, since I still had plenty of time - about 1h - and, despite the restrictions of the post-diet, I was able to get some bread with oil and salt.

My first leg was directed to Madrid, where I landed at 10:30pm or so. 13h of layover and my friend Luca was not even in Madrid to pay him a visit. I went immediately to airport shuttle stop that took about 30mins to arrive and I checked-in in the hotel.  Best moment over to take a hot bath, after such tiring day.

The following morning I was able to get some bandage from the hotel lobby, so I was able to cover my wound pretty well.

I had my breakfast in the other VIP Lounge at Madrid airport - I am so happy for my Priority Pass: also, it seems that with covid many lounges are relying on it a lot more, so I've found an available lounge at 80% of the airports I've visited so far - even the smallest ones like Galapagos. I spent time trying to sort out my Covid-19 EU Digital certificate - which was pretty messy from the get-go.

I wore all the bracelets collected during this trip: I still miss two that I was not able to find!

And I was ready to go to Casablanca, first time ever.

Flight was pretty smooth and I arrived about on time.

In Casablanca we are 1h behind Central European time. The police officer who checked my passport was pretty strict, serious, and rigid: he sent back 2 people before me. I couldn't change queue at that moment, so I decided to wear my best smile. It took him a couple of more mins vs the average police officer around him to check my documentation. Before putting the stamp on the passport he asked me:
- What’s your origin?
- Italian
- Your father?
- Italian, I have the last name like this city but it’s the first time visiting.

I thought they would have reserve for me a special treatment - given my last name - but actually they were more suspicious. Anyhow, I was in! I was in Morocco. It took me time to find the driver, and I had to call the company: with the pandemic many exits were closed. But I was able to reach the hotel
