Interregnum STOPS 8 and 9 | Nothing lost, Updated Itinerary and Stats, Surrounded by People & Future travels

Dedicated to my American roomie, Tyler, who just moved to Boston to embark on a new enhanced educational experience and who just let me add Boston as the 12th and final stop of my trip.

Everything was smooth on the MXP Express. The only "problem" I had, was breaking my backpack while visiting the Last Supper.

Now I am on the plane: 4H flight To Reykjavík. I couldn’t use the Lounge as it was closed, but had the chance to grab some bites for lunch and some fruits.

I am a little bit tired: it’s not a complaint, it’s just a matter of fact. Traveling is amazing; 3 months off from work even more so, and organizing everything is thrilling. However, taking care of the logistics may be time-consuming and the Covid-19 procedures/docs are cumbersome.

I did not lose anything in Milan, as far as I can figure at the moment. Fuerteventura and Milan were the most emotionally intense stops and the ones where I didn’t lose anything, I am trying to understand if there is a connection between the two beyond my emotions.

Not sure if I mentioned my future travel, but this is the updated itinerary, as of September 11th.

I started thinking about my coming back to SF. We do not need to go physically to the office till January 2022, as of now. And I still need to look for a new house in the city. I thought about some additional travels I would like to do by the end of the year, e.g. Hawaii and Seattle. I have a course in Los Angeles in November and in December I would love to go back to Lisbon for a shamanic seminar as well as Milan. I need an admin who can manage all of this.

Bur more so, I realized I am surrounded by people. I had a lot of people willing to see me (and me willing to see them): and there were a way more, but it couldn’t happen due to logistics and time constraint. I was in Milan for 4 days and I met 15+ people +3 touristic attractions. What's more beautiful than people connecting with each other?

Probably what I need to work on is a routinely group of people and hobbies and activities, but in order to do so, I need stability, which is the opposite of sabbatical travels: you cannot have everything in life, so #takelifeasitcomes and give yourself time as well as be gentle with yourself.

I am collecting some stats and so far these are the ones (as of September 9th):

  • Days passed so far: 78
  • Stops so far: 8 (out of 12)
  • Covid-19 tests (including invalid): 17
  • Flights canceled/changed: 2
  • Flights legs: 18
  • Hours spent flying: 57.5 hours
  • Minutes spent flying: 3450
  • Rooms/beds changed for sleeping: 26
